Approach

With my teaching, researching, learning and practicing experiences, I developed a holistic and patient-centered approach to treat my patient (close Carl Rogers philosophy of therapy). Empathy, understanding, listening, analysis and keep a professional distance with the patient, with a strong respect of Ethics (O.P.Q. - A.P.A.), are my key tools. The choice of the psychotherapy should be determined by the patient’s needs. The therapeutic relationship is the most important component of the care process. Unconditional positive regard, and genuine nature give the possibility to develop the necessary confidence, key of success of the therapy.

Approach / What to Expect

I employ an integrative approach to psychotherapy, which is based on the psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, family systems, cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapies. The methods are always ultimately unique for everyone, and are adjusted in the process of therapy depending on each client’s needs. I strive to create a warm, supportive and nonjudgmental environment where we can work together to make healthy changes that address immediate concerns, as well as provide enduring change. In addition, my masters and doctorate training included extensive study and research of the brain neurochemistry and the effects of psychiatric medications. This knowledge makes me uniquely positioned to be able to review recent scientific research on biological as well as psychological contributions to psychological disorders.
