What is a Nurse Practitioner?
The nurse practitioner specialized in mental health is a highly trained healthcare professional authorized to prescribe diagnostic tests, medications, and treatments. Certified by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ), the NP-MH is qualified to assess, diagnose, and manage both physical and mental health conditions. In psychiatric care, the NP-M conducts psychiatric and mental health evaluations, provides diagnoses, and develops evidence-based treatment plans that include prescriptions. Their role also includes collaboration with other mental health professionals for an integrative approach to care.
Our Unique Approach
Our nurse practitioner specialized in mental health is also a licensed psychotherapist with the Ordre des psychologues et psychothérapeutes du Québec (OPQ). This dual expertise allows her to develop personalized treatment plans and offer services that take the whole person into account. She provides ongoing support and guidance, integrating psychotherapeutic techniques that complement medical management.
