Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar Disorder is characterized by mood swings that can go from low and depressed and/or anger to high, energetic and even mania. The mood swings can be every few days/weeks or several times in a day. It is different from mild changes in the mood, which is normal. The mood swings happen suddenly, affect one’s life significantly, and can be confusing for those in their social circles, such as family members and friends. Strict structure and regular sleep and eating habits are highly recommended in individuals suffering from bipolar, in addition to medication and psychotherapy.
Therapy can be highly beneficial for individuals with bipolar disorder by helping them understand and manage their mood swings, develop coping strategies, and establish a routine that supports stability. It provides a safe space to explore triggers, work through emotional difficulties, and improve relationships.
